Rita Zhang is currently based between San Francisco and Nanjing, China. As a pianist, educator, composer and producer, her works include music written for the concert stage, film, and commercials. 

Rita Zhang is a music specialist serving at Stratford School/BASIS In. Her music explores notions of music perceptions and intuitions. Her work is performed in the US and Asia, at venues including Centers for New Music in San Francisco, and John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington D.C. Rita has been mentored by Yang Zhou and Prof. Elinor Armer. She received her Master Degree of music performance and composition at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music (旧金山音乐学院), and her Bachelor degree of music composition and theory at Nanjing University of the Arts. Rita Zhang is now pursuing her Doctoral Degree (D.M.A) of Music Performance and Composition and serving as a teaching assistant in the music department under the supervision of Dr. Ben Leeds Carson at UCSC.
